Brisbane International Airport is the main airport for Brisbane and the state of Queensland. There is another airport close by, the Gold Coast Airport, which is of more importance to travelers taking domestic flights in Australia. Brisbane International Airport is located 13km (8 miles) north east of Brisbane CBD.

The main car car hire companies operating at Brisbane Airport are Brisbane Airport Avis, Brisbane Airport Hertz, Brisbane Airport Budget, Brisbane Airport Thrifty and Europcar at Brisbane Airport. All of these companies will allow you to rent a car for your full stay in Australia while you are visiting. If you shop around you can obtain some very competitive quotes especially from some of the smaller local car hire companies outside the airport terminal.

Brisbane Airport Terminals

Brisbane Airport has terminals, the very busy domestic terminal and the International Terminal. Airport terminals at Brisbane Airport offer a separate terminal for domestic passengers as well as international passengers. Even though the international and domestic terminals are spread just 2 kilometers apart from each other, the inter-terminal passenger services carts individuals to and from these locations as needed. Getting from the domestic terminal and international terminal is served primarily by the Airtrain shuttle which runs every 15 mins between 6 a.m. - 7 p.m and the taxi ranks outside.

Brisbane Airport Parking

With more than 1700 undercover car parks and over 600 outdoor car parks, there is more than enough parking for everyone at the Brisbane Airport. In fact, additions of more car parks are to be completed in August 2007 when the airport construction is finished. This will ensure ample parking for international, as well as domestic passengers who need to leave their cars for unexpected delays.

Brisbane Arrivals are located on Level 2 of the Airport Terminal and there is also passenger services located on this Level as well. In addition, Brisbane makes it easy so that loved ones can easily see Brisbane Airport's arrival schedule to determine if their expected one will be arriving late or on time.

Brisbane Airport Departures

Departures check-in at the Brisbane Airport is located on Level 4 at the airport and the lounge for Departures is located one level below that. As with the arrivals, Brisbane Airport Departures are also very easy to see with the schedule that the Airport keeps up on a minute-to-minute updated basis.

The Brisbane and Southern Queensland area consists of subtropical weather that is beautiful for all the passengers that travel in and out of the Brisbane Airport.
